Med 1

When being the immediate responder is inevitable having the Asset Mindset is imperative for survival. Med  1 is a one day 6-7 hour course built around 3 modules. Modules 1 & 2 will provide participants with certificates for AHA CPR & Stop The Bleed. After module 1 & 2 we will dive into module 3, First Aid Essentials. First Aid Essential includes primary and secondary assessments, scene management, and trauma kit equipment. Students will master airway management techniques, tourniquet application, wound packing, patient packaging/movement, and the M.A.R.C.H. algorithm.

*No prerequisites or medical training required*

This course covers the following

  • The Asset Mindset
  • Good Samaritan laws and how they effect you
  • Why it’s important to be prepared to be the immediate responder
  • How does stress effect your ability to operate
  • Discussion of medical equipment and first aid supplies
  • Hands-on I.F.A.K. training and assembly
  • Basic Anatomy and Physiology and how it correlates to injury or illness
  • Patient assessment in conjunction with the M.A.R.C.H. algorithm
  • Basic First Aid and Advanced wound care
  • Basic a Airway management and assessment
  • Nasopharyngeal Airway (NPA) and Chest seal placement/use
  • Massive Hemorrhage and hemostatic agents
  • Application of basic bandages and pressure bandages
  • Wound packing basics and techniques
  • Tourniquet application and recognizing its effectiveness
  • Identifying shock and how to treat it
  • Moving and positioning victims with various injuries
  • Response to active shooter scenarios
  • Mass casualty triage procedure

Required Class Materials

  • Appropriate clothing & footwear (casual or athletic attire & closed-toe shoes)
  • Food & water
  • Note pad and writing utensil
  • A good attitude and a willingness to learn

Stop The Bleed

We are Stop The Bleed instructors and we have a passion for training people to be an asset during an emergency. We offer Stop The Bleed classes periodically. Stop the Bleed is a grassroots national awareness campaign and call-to-action. Stop the Bleed encourages bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives

Seconds matter in a cardiac arrest scenario. When the heart stops, every minute that goes by the likely hood of survival goes with it. Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation or CPR is a vital skill to get right. Frontline Medical Defense certifies individuals or groups who need these certifications or re-certification. From in-home classes to on site at your place of business, we can instruct and certify you, your family, and your co-workers.

We teach the CPR classes, First aid classes, and AED classes that meet your time, budget, and the state requirements for AHA certification.

  • We Provide the CPR Card: Get the training that you need in CPR and the American Heart Association CPR card you need.
