The I.F.A.K.
The I.F.A.K. Medical Kit is a newer addition to the first aid kit arena. I.F.A.K. is short for Individual Firs Aid kit and encompasses the essentials for typically one person. The I.F.A.K. finds its roots in the military, like many of the innovations coming to EMS these days. Initially developed for the soldier to improve their survivability on the battlefield. Typical contents included a tourniquet, gloves, an elastic bandage, nasopharyngeal airway, and a combat gauze dressing. The I.F.A.K. is evolving quickly from from the standard, and in our opinion useless, first aid kits you get at Walmart or Target. A well equipped I.F.A.K. will hold a wide range of items to carry you through your days and nights.
